K Jayaganesh‘s story is somewhat you might only watch in movies. He failed the civil service examination six times but never lost heart. The seventh time — his last chance — he passed with a rank of 156 and has been selected for the Indian Administrative Service.

Jayaganesh’s story is inspiring not because he did not lose heart but also because he comes from a very poor background in a village in Tamil Nadu, and though he studied to be an engineer, he worked at odd jobs, even as a waiter for a short while, to realise his dream of becoming an IAS officer. CANDIDATES TO ENSURE THEIR ELIGIBILITY FOR THE EXAMINATION:

The candidates applying for the examination should ensure that they fulfil all the eligibility conditions for admission to the Examination. Their admission at all the stages of the examination will be purely provisional subject to satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions. Mere issue of Admission Certificate to the candidate will not imply that his candidature has been finally cleared by the Commission. Verification of eligibility conditions with reference to original documents will be taken up only after the candidate has qualified for interview/Personality Test.
